Melinda Hammond

Melinda first participated in the marching arts as a member of the Lakeland High School Marching Band while attending the International Academy West in White Lake, Michigan. Since then, she has provided both music and visual instruction for several high school marching programs and is currently the clarinet instructor for Southgate Anderson High School. Melinda has worked with the LakeShoremen since 2014 as both a performer and winds instructor.
As a clarinetist in the eighth grade, Melinda decided to become a music educator, and she continues to pursue that goal as a Music Education major at Michigan State University. In the occasional moments when she is not pursuing musical endeavors, Melinda participates in the sport of Equestrian Vaulting, the combination of gymnastics and dance on the back of a moving horse. She loves spending time outdoors with her animals and rarely sits still for long.
